A deputada federal Alice Portugal (PCdoB-BA), autora do projeto de lei 61\/2008, que eleva o dia da Independ\u00eancia da Bahia \u00e0 condi\u00e7\u00e3o de data nacional, esclarece que a proposi\u00e7\u00e3o n\u00e3o prev\u00ea a cria\u00e7\u00e3o de mais um feriado nacional, mas faz jus \u201cao relevante papel que a independ\u00eancia da Bahia significou para a consolida\u00e7\u00e3o da liberta\u00e7\u00e3o do Brasil do jugo da coroa portuguesa\u201d. A parlamentar considera que a institui\u00e7\u00e3o da data tamb\u00e9m vai contribuir para ampliar o debate em torno da restitui\u00e7\u00e3o do nome 2 de Julho ao aeroporto internacional de Salvador, que passou a ser denominado Deputado Luiz Eduardo Magalh\u00e3es ap\u00f3s a morte do pol\u00edtico baiano, em 1998. &nbsp;A volta do antigo nome ao terminal aeroportu\u00e1rio da capital baiana tramita na C\u00e2mara dos Deputados.
